Job summary

Havenwyck Hospital, a UHS facility in Auburn Hills, Michigan, seeks a Part-Time Driver - Patient Transportation to coordinate and schedule authorized use of hospital vehicles and transport patients of all ages to and from services.

You will escort patients, maintain safe vehicles, log mileage, and communicate with families and providers in a compassionate manner while adhering to all hospital policies and training requirements. Prior experience in behavioral health transport preferred.

Qualifications

• GED or high school diploma required.
• No violations for driving without insurance or related offenses in the past 3 years.
• No DUI/DWI convictions within the past 7 years.
• No more than 3 moving violations or 2 at-fault accidents in the past 3 years.
• Physical ability to push/pull and lift up to 40 pounds.
• Previous transport experience in a mental health setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule authorized use of hospital vehicles to transport Havenwyck patients.
• Drive hospital vehicles to transport adult, adolescent, and child patients using maps or GPS.
• Escort and assist patients on/off the van and into designated areas.
• Maintain a safe, sanitary vehicle environment and perform routine maintenance tasks.
• Record maintenance and mileage data in logs.
• Communicate with guardians, family members and providers in a professional manner.
• Keep facility and grounds free of debris and trash as assigned.
• Light housekeeping in administrative areas as needed.
• Attend required training and follow hospital policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
