Penns Valley Area School District is seeking a dedicated Para Educator for the 2026-2027 school year at Penns Valley Elementary/Intermediate. The position reports to the Building Principal and supports students with disabilities in instructional settings.

Responsibilities include one-on-one and small-group support, assisting with classroom activities, and implementing IEP-related strategies. Requires clearances and up-to-date certifications; position is on-site.

Formación

• Education: Must have completed at least two years of postsecondary study, or possess an associate degree or higher.
• Clearances: Submit criminal history and child abuse history documents; background checks completed within one year.
• Commitment: Para educators provide 20 hours of staff development annually.

Responsabilidades

• Escort student(s) to class, restrooms, cafeteria, bus, and other areas; provide support.
• Assist classroom teachers with materials and activities.
• Support instructional objectives with individual or small-group work.
• Tutor students individually to reinforce learning activities.
• Help students complete seatwork and stay engaged in tasks.
• Support with personal needs, IEP goals, and health-related accommodations.
• Supervise students during drills, assemblies, recess, and field trips.
• Maintain confidentiality and ethical behavior with student information.
