Job summary

Lowcountry Oncology Associates seeks a Chemotherapy Infusion Nurse to provide safe, compassionate care to patients receiving chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biotherapy, and other infusion therapies in an outpatient oncology setting. The role reports to the Mount Pleasant clinic at 1300 Hospital Drive.

You will assess patients, review treatment plans, administer therapies, and document in the EMR while ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout treatment.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted RN license in South Carolina.
• Current BLS certification.
• EMR experience required.
• Strong assessment, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced outpatient environment.
• Commitment to providing compassionate, safe and patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate, and patient-centered care to patients receiving a variety of outpatient infusion therapies.
• Assess patients prior to and throughout treatment, including vital signs, treatment readiness, laboratory results, symptoms, and overall condition.
• Review chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and biotherapy treatment plans and orders for accuracy.
• Identify discrepancies or concerns with treatment orders and communicate with the physician and care team.
• Safely administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biotherapy, and other prescribed treatments.
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions, side effects, and changes in condition; intervene as needed.
• Document assessments, treatments and patient responses in the EMR.
• Educate patients and families about treatment, side effects, medications, and contact procedures.
