Job summary

Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center in Sun City West, AZ, is seeking an Oncology Scheduling Specialist to coordinate appointments across the campus for physicians, facilities, and clinics. You will manage scheduling for procedures, tests, and follow-ups while maintaining an empathetic, patient-centered experience.

The role requires high school level education with 2 years of scheduling in a medical setting, excellent communication, and proficiency with medical practice management and scheduling

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; two years scheduling experience in a physician’s office or hospital.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with common office software and scheduling/medical practice management systems.

Responsibilities

• Schedule medical appointments by coordinating patients, providers, facilities, and payers.
• Receive orders and schedule/reschedule tests, procedures using EMR systems.
• Provide patients with instructions, locations, and directions to appointments.
• Communicate with patients and clinical staff to ensure an easy, empathetic patient experience.
• Identify alternative scheduling options when preferred slots are unavailable.
