Job summary

Pate Rehabilitation is seeking a motivated Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our team in Irving, TX. The OT will develop and implement goal-directed treatment plans to restore functional skills and activities of daily living for our patients, guided by physician orders.

The role requires current Texas OT licensure and CPR certification, with opportunities to supervise Certified Occupational Therapist Assistants and OT students, and to participate in discharge planning and caregiver education.

Qualifications

• B.S./M.S. degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
• Current license to practice Occupational Therapy in the state of Texas required.
• Current CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement goal-directed treatment plans for assigned patients utilizing in-depth evaluation and physician orders.
• Establish realistic, objective functional goals based on patient/caregiver goals and overall discharge plan.
• Supervise Certified Occupational Therapist Assistants, Rehabilitation Technicians, OT students, and OTA students on a routine basis.
• Educate patients/caregivers on occupational therapy services, treatment procedures, and treatment goals.
• Prepare for client discharge in a timely, thorough manner, including patient/caregiver education, home visit, recommendations for home modifications and equipment needs, and procurement of recommended equipment.
• Maintain a working knowledge of and adherence to Occupational Therapy Practice Act and Code of Ethics.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
