Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED and current BLS certification is required.
• In the state of Washington, one of the following credentials is required: Current CNA/LNA/CMA/EMT-IV in state of practice.
• Preferred: one year of medical/clinical/clerical experience in hospital, ambulatory surgery center, or customer service.

Responsibilities

• Promotes patient health by assisting with hygiene, mobility, and nutritional intake.
• Collects vital signs and other delegated measurements and documents data.
• Documents patient data and care activities in the medical record.
• Assists in transporting patient specimens.
• Recognizes changes in patient health and reports to licensed professional.
• Communicates patient status to other caregivers for continuity of care.
• Performs delegated procedures and uses equipment within competency.
• Provides supplies and assistance to staff for unit procedures under supervision.
• Maintains a clean, stocked environment.
• Greet and assist patients, visitors, physicians, and staff as needed.
