Job summary

Nebraska Methodist Health System is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support patients with daily living, comfort, and transport within Methodist Hospital in Omaha. You will follow care plans, monitor vitals, assist with ADLs, and document patient information in Cerner.

The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and compassionate care in a busy hospital setting. Schedule ranges from 24 to 36 hours per week (6:45am–7:15pm).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; completion of Nurse Assistant course or on-the-job training required.
• Completion of first clinical rotation as Nursing Assistant preferred.
• Removal of barriers with BLS within 3 months of hire is favored.
• Experience in patient care settings is preferred, with direct patient contact encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Provides age-appropriate patient care to support comfort and understanding of treatment.
• Delivers individualized patient care and completes age-specific competency checks.
• Maintains excellent interpersonal relations with patients, staff and guests.
• Responds promptly to patient needs and communicates issues to the care team.
• Adheres to patient plans of care, assists with ADLs and transfers as directed.
• Documents all patient data in Cerner or worksheets accurately and timely.
• Maintains a clean, safe patient environment and supports housekeeping duties.
