Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support patient care in the Mother/Baby Unit. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, you will perform basic nursing tasks, document vitals, and help ensure a clean, safe environment.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED, BLS, and Nursing Assistant certification preferred. The schedule is 36 hours, and prior experience or clinical rotation is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED/equivalent required.
• Nursing Assistant Certification preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• Requires previous Nursing Assistant experience or one clinical rotation completed.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English.
• Ability to lift, transfer and move patients.

Responsibilities

• Provides superior customer service to patients and colleagues.
• Performs patient care activities under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
• Acts as an assistant to nursing staff and Registered Nurse.
• Performs non-nursing duties as directed by the RN to support patient care quality.
• Maintains a safe and comfortable environment for patients.
• Assists the RN with admission, transfer, and discharge of patients.
• Documents vital signs as appropriate and relevant patient data.
• Cares for patients on precautions and adheres to safety goals.
