Job summary

The Nursing Assistant at UCI Health supports professional nursing staff by performing duties related to patient care, including taking vital signs, assisting with hygiene, and maintaining a clean, safe unit.

You will float between the Orange and Irvine locations, stock supplies, operate equipment as directed, handle routine clerical tasks, and support other duties as assigned to ensure high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Understanding of basic medical terminology.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English effectively.
• Floats between Orange and Irvine locations as needed.
• Must be a trained CNA or LVN or enrolled in nursing program with 1 clinical semester.
• Demonstrates effective therapeutic communication.
• Patient care experience, preferably in an acute care setting.
• Current BLS certification (AHA).
• Workplace violence responder training within 30 days of hire and annually thereafter.
• Capable of working weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Take and record vital signs.
• Assist patients with hygiene and elimination.
• Maintain a clean and safe unit environment.
• Assist with stocking unit supplies.
• Operate hospital equipment as directed.
• Perform routine clerical tasks and other related duties.
