Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Nurse Aide I/II to provide direct patient care in a clinical setting. You will assist with activities of daily living, monitor vital signs, and ensure patient safety while maintaining clean and organized rooms.

You will also support clerical tasks, manage inventory, and perform basic procedures under supervision, including ECG and venipuncture as trained. Strong communication and adherence to safety protocols are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Current listing with the DFS Nurse Aide Registry as a Nurse Aide I or with the applicable state Board of Nursing as a Nurse Aide II.
• BLS required per policy guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living for patients/residents.
• Support personal hygiene for patients/residents.
• Take vital signs and height/weight measurements.
• Assist with feeding and ambulation per procedures.
• Keep patient/resident rooms clean and orderly.
• Observe and report changes in patient/resident conditions.
• Orient patients/families to unit and explain safety measures.
• Assist with clerical tasks (phones, data entry, medical records).
• Maintain stock supply items in inventory management.
• Perform Nurse Aide I/II tasks per state Board guidelines.
• Perform ECG (12-lead) and routine venipuncture as trained.
