Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Licensed by South Carolina Board of Nursing by examination or reciprocity.

Responsibilities

• Make daily assignments when in charge of the shift.
• Make rounds with outgoing nurse; receive report on residents' condition as you do your walking rounds from room to room.
• Administer medications as scheduled on your shift.
• Do scheduled treatments.
• Daily and PRN documentation should be done.
• Do incident reports and behavior log entries as they occur.
• Notify MD of changes in residents' status or abnormal labs; receives and transcribes physician's orders.
• Requests lab work, schedule X-rays, Dr.'s appointments per orders.
• Notify responsible party for any incident or change in condition.
• Make transportation arrangements for residents as needed.
• 3pm-11pm shift documents WTS and reports changes to dietary, pharmacy deliveries.
• 11pm-7am shift charts vital signs, prepare MARs, fax orders on weekends, check emergency carts and MED vials.
• Open communication with DON, ADON, Supervisors, and MDS Coordinator.
