Compassionate Mobility Driver for Seniors

Job summary

Active Day is seeking dependable Drivers to operate mobility buses, assist members with on- and off-boarding, and provide safe, courteous transportation to and from our centers in Youngstown, OH.

You will perform daily vehicle inspections, maintain records, and communicate professionally with members and staff. A valid driver’s license, state credentials, and DOT-related clearances may be required, with training provided as needed.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to multi-task and manage time effectively.
• Prior experience working as a driver preferred but not required.
• Valid driver’s license and state/vehicle-specific driver credentials.
• Prior experience working with seniors and/or adults with special needs preferred.
• Able to work a flexible schedule.
• Knowledge of local geographic area preferred.
• Certifications such as CPR, First Aid, and PASS may be required and will be provided as part of training.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily vehicle inspections and follow maintenance and fueling schedules.
• Assist members with on- and off-boarding and ensure seat belts are secured.
• Maintain vehicle information including route, mileage, and service records.
• Communicate professionally with members, families, and staff.
• Report issues to supervisor and assist in improving operational efficiency.
