Job summary

MultiCare Health System, Navos Behavioral Health, is seeking a Mental Health Technician to join an interdisciplinary team. The role focuses on creating a safe, supportive environment for psychiatric patients while assisting with basic care and recovery needs.

The position requires a Bachelor’s in social services or related field and/or 1 year of experience, with CNA/NAR required before start. BLS/First Aid and Food Handler’s Card are mandatory for Navos assignments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in social services field preferred; 1 year experience acceptable in lieu of education
• Must obtain Nursing Assistant Registered (NAR) or CNA prior to start date
• Navos Hospital assignment requires BLS and First Aid beforehand; CPR on floor may be onsite
• Food Handler's Card required within two weeks of hire
• Washington ACCR credential must be applied for within 30 days; may work in pending status until DOH issues"

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment for psychiatric patients
• Assist with basic patient care and recovery needs as part of an interdisciplinary team
• Support unit operations with excellent patient service and clinic management assistance
• Collaborate with physicians, clinical staff, front office staff and clinic management
• Document patient behavior and safety; report unsafe conditions and maintain hazard-free environment
• Provide and document interventions tailored to each patient’s needs across modalities
