RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Mental Health Technician at Monmouth Medical Center in Millstone Township, NJ. The role supports psychiatric patients under an RN, delivering compassionate care with vigilance and empathy to create a therapeutic environment.

Responsibilities include observation, care plan execution, basic clinical tasks under supervision, and accurate documentation. Full-time day shift with comprehensive benefits is offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 3–5 years of related psychiatric/geriatric-psychiatric experience.
• 1 year as Nurse Aide/Assistant/CHHA or EMT OR completed approved Aide training.
• At least 1 year of phlebotomy and/or EKG testing experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide constant observation and companionship to patients.
• Follow care plans to support patient goals.
• Perform RN-directed clinical procedures (EKG, venipuncture, capillary sampling, glucose monitoring).
• Use two patient identifiers before direct care or procedures.
• Document observations and patient data every 15 minutes in the Safety and Attendance system.
• Assist with ADLs, meals, and mobility to ensure safety and comfort.
