Job summary

Avamere Rio Rancho is seeking a Server to provide compassionate dining service in memory care, assisted living and/or independent living settings. You will take and deliver orders, serve meals and beverages, keep tables clean, and help residents enjoy a safe, satisfying dining experience.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of high standards of food service sanitation and safety.
• Maintaining high standards of personal hygiene.
• Interpersonal skills to interact with staff and residents.
• Ability to learn to operate kitchen equipment.
• CPR/First Aid Certification during employment.
• Current Food Handlers card issued by local Health Department.
• Understanding of dietary practices and related laws for hospital/nursing home operation.
• Friendly, attentive, and professional demeanor with residents and guests.
• Confidentiality of resident care information.
• Compassion for and desire to work with the elderly.
• Create and uphold an atmosphere of warmth, patience, enthusiasm, and a calm environment.

Responsibilities

• Accurately recording and delivering meal and beverage orders from residents.
• Promptly delivering food and beverages to residents, ensuring attractive presentation.
• Providing attentive and friendly service and addressing residents' needs during meals.
• Setting up the dining room before meals and maintaining cleanliness throughout the service.
• Clearing tables after meals and resetting them for the next service.
• Taking and delivering room service orders to residents’ apartments.
• Knowing the menu and dietary needs to answer questions.
• Interacting with residents and guests professionally and courteously.
• Following all food safety and hygiene procedures.
• Collaborating with wait staff and kitchen staff for smooth service.
• Disposing of food and waste per policies.
• Other duties as assigned.
