Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; CMT certification required per state regulations; CPR/BLS certification required.
• Knowledge of medication administration principles and safety practices; strong documentation and confidentiality.
• Must be able to pass background investigation and drug screening; effective communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Administers medications accurately and safely under the direction of licensed nursing staff in accordance with physician orders and state regulations.
• Observes patients for medication side effects, adverse reactions, and changes in condition and reports concerns promptly to nursing staff.
• Accurately documents all medication administration and patient responses in the medical record.
• Assists with medication inventory, storage, monitoring of expiration dates, and controlled substance accountability as assigned.
• Maintains a safe and clean medication administration environment.
• Follows CFG Health System policies and patient privacy regulations (HIPAA).
• Communicates effectively with nursing staff, custody staff, providers, and patients.
