Job summary

Embassy Healthcare in Mercer, PA is seeking a Medication Technician to assist licensed nursing staff by administering daily medications as ordered by physicians. The role supports the nursing department with routine medication rounds, accurate documentation, and adherence to safety protocols.

You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse, monitor for adverse reactions, and maintain proper medication storage and handling.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Certified nursing assistant (CNA) certification is required.
• Medication aide certification is required.
• Minimum of 1 year of health care experience or 2 years as medication aide.

Responsibilities

• Deliver routine daily oral, inhalation and topical medications to residents under direct supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Observe for adverse drug reactions and report problems to the nurse.
• Record medication administration according to policies and procedures.
• Follow written or verbal instructions on medication management.
• Observe residents for changes and document changes in condition.
• Perform tasks related to medication administration including vital signs and dosing calculations.
• Practice safe handling and storage of medications.
