Job summary

Bickford Senior Living seeks a Medication Technician to support residents with daily medication needs in a compassionate, dignity-centered way. This full-time role offers a benefits package and daily pay options, aligning with our mission to enrich happiness for seniors.

You’ll follow MAR orders, uphold the Six Rights, and collaborate with clinical staff on care plans. The position requires CPR/First Aid, a valid Medication Technician certification, and is based in Ames, IA where you’ll join a

Qualifications

• Active Medication Technician Certification in good standing or at least one year of experience caring for seniors.
• Must have an approved Medication Manager Certificate from the Department of Inspection and Appeals.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• CPR and First Aid certifications are required.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities.
• Competent in written and verbal communication.
• Ability to utilize or learn Bickford’s eMAR system to administer medications.

Responsibilities

• Accurately following the resident MAR to ensure that medications are given out according to the Physician’s orders.
• Understand and follow the Six rights of medication administration and all policies regarding medication management.
• Understand and appropriately utilize the eMAR system for medication administration.
• Communicate appropriately with clinical leadership for clarification and direction regarding resident medication administration and care.
• Providing direct resident care; supervising non-licensed team members and other areas of the branch as appropriate.
• Lead by example in demonstrating the Bickford Mission ‘Whatever it Takes’ on shift.
