Job summary

Morgan Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Johnston, RI is seeking a Certified Medication Technician to administer medications safely and compassionately to residents. This part-time role supports nursing staff and delivers high-quality daily care in a sub-acute and long-term care setting.

You will handle oral, topical, ophthalmic, and subcutaneous medications, maintain proper documentation, store medications securely, and participate in a collaborative care team focused on resident safety

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Medication Technician Certification in the state of employment.
• Must be a CNA or CHHA/HHA as required for the role.
• Previous Certified Medication Technician experience preferred.
• Experience administering oral, topical, ophthalmic and subcutaneous medications.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications safely and accurately per physician orders and policies.
• Provide medications via oral, topical, optic, ophthalmic, and subcutaneous routes as allowed.
• Observe residents, document changes, and report adverse reactions to nursing staff.
• Assist with basic resident care under licensed staff supervision.
• Ensure medications are stored, secured, and accounted for per procedures.
• Maintain timely documentation of medication administration and care activities.
• Collaborate with nursing staff to promote resident-centered care.
