Job summary

AdviniaCare Newport in Newport, RI, is hiring a Certified Medication Technician (CMT) to administer medications, assist with daily living, and ensure resident safety and comfort on a full-time basis.

The ideal candidate holds a Rhode Island CNA license and CMT certification, has medication pass experience, and is CPR/BLS certified. We value teamwork, compassion, and a strong commitment to residents’ well-being.

Qualifications

• Active Rhode Island CNA license and CMT certification in good standing.
• Previous medication pass experience required.
• Current BLS/CPR certification.
• Experience caring for seniors, including dementia, preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications accurately and on time, following physician orders, facility policies and Rhode Island regulations.
• Document medication administration in the electronic medication record (eMAR).
• Observe residents for changes in condition or medication side effects and report them to the charge nurse.
• Assist residents with daily living tasks, including grooming, bathing, dressing, incontinence care and meals.
• Provide CNA care as needed when not passing medications.
• Follow safety, infection control and resident privacy procedures.
• Treat every resident with dignity, patience and respect.
