Qualifications

• Completion of a State-approved Geriatric Nursing Assistant training program (registration with the State registry required).
• Completion of a State-approved Medication Aide Course (and applicable continuing education, as required).
• Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions in English.

Responsibilities

• Accurately prepare, administer, and chart oral, topical, and suppository medications
• Ensure all medications are administered as prescribed, following proper protocols
• Verify medication information against orders and labels for accuracy
• Clearly identify residents before administering medications
• Maintain proper documentation of medications and treatments provided
