Job summary

Oakmont Senior Living in Novato, CA seeks a Medication Technician to supervise and assist in administering prescribed medications to residents in accordance with nursing standards. You will provide direct personal care, encourage resident participation, and collaborate with housekeeping and maintenance to support the community’s mission and values.

The role requires compassionate service, attention to safety, and the ability to coordinate with residents, families, physicians, and staff.

Qualifications

• Prefer 1 year of experience assisting with medications in RCFE.
• State training/certification may be required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent; LVN is a plus.
• Must be able to operate MS Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.)
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong desire to work with the elderly and care for their needs.
• Written and verbal communication with employees, supervisors, physicians, residents and families.
• Criminal background check and health screening, including TB tests.
• Vaccination/testing and PPE may be required per regulatory guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and distribute medication to residents.
• Coordinate medication services with resident, pharmacy, and physician.
• Order and track medication changes, refills, and deliveries with pharmacies.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential resident medication and care records.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for staff, residents, and guests.
• Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments.
