Job summary

The Bristal Assisted Living in Wayne, NJ is seeking compassionate Medication Aides to help residents manage medications safely under physician orders. You will follow MARs and doctor orders, assist with ADLs, and work in the Resident Services Wellness Department. A weekend shift is required.

Candidate must have a New Jersey state med tech certification and an HHA certificate; training is provided for MARs and orders as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience assisting residents with Alzheimer's or dementia is a plus.
• Maintains respect for the elderly and stays calm.
• Extremely reliable, dependable and observant.
• Ability to work one weekend day per week.
• Must have at least an HHA certificate.
• Understanding MARs and doctors’ orders is beneficial; training provided.
• Applicants must hold a New Jersey state med tech certification to apply.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and medication administration.
• Follow policies and procedures and instructions of the Nurse Shift Supervisor and Director of Wellness.
• Ensure safety and wellbeing of residents, adhering to company policies.
• Follow Medication Administration Records (MARs) and doctors’ orders.
