Job summary

The Bristal Assisted Living in Waldwick, New Jersey seeks compassionate Medication Aides/Technicians to assist residents with daily medication management. You will work in the Resident Services Wellness Department to ensure safe administration under physician orders, contributing to residents’ quality of life.

Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs, following MARs, and adhering to policies. Weekend availability is required; prior experience with dementia is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience assisting those with Alzheimer's disease and dementia is a plus.
• Maintain an abiding respect for the elderly and remain calm at all times
• Extremely reliable, dependent and observant
• Ability to work one weekend day per week
• Must have at least an HHA certificate
• Solid understanding of MAR’s and doctors’ orders a plus (but we will train the right individual)
• Applicants must hold a New Jersey state med tech certification in order to apply for this position

Responsibilities

• Assisting residents manage Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and the administration of their medications
• Following all policies and procedures, and adhering to the instructions of the Nurse Shift Supervisor and the Director of Wellness
• Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all residents, while following company policies and procedures
• Following Medication Administration Records (MAR) and doctors’ orders
