The role emphasizes accurate documentation, monitoring for side effects, safe medication storage, and collaboration with nurses and physicians to uphold high standards of resident well-being in a senior living setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• State certification as a Medication Aide preferred; on-the-job training available.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications to residents as prescribed, ensuring proper dosage, timing, and documentation.
• Provide individualized care for residents with specific medical needs, including assistance with personal care and ADLs.
• Maintain accurate medication records and documentation, reporting adverse reactions or errors to the supervising nurse.
• Monitor residents for side effects or changes in condition related to medication, and inform the healthcare team of any concerns.
• Ensure medications are stored safely and securely in compliance with state regulations and facility policies.
• Collaborate with nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality care and outcomes.
• Follow all regulations and protocols for medication administration and safety.
