Job summary

The Blair Memory Care Center of Cary is seeking a compassionate Medication Aide - SIC to support our clinical team in administering medications and providing specialized care to residents. You will work closely with nursing staff to monitor for side effects and maintain accurate medication records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• State certification as a Medication Aide preferred; on-the-job training available.
• Healthcare setting experience, especially in senior care preferred.
• Knowledge of medication administration, safety protocols, and infection control.

Responsibilities

• Medication Administration: Administer medications to residents as prescribed by physicians, ensuring proper dosage, timing, and documentation.
• Specialized Care Support: Provide individualized care for residents with specific medical needs, including assistance with personal care and activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate and timely medication records and documentation, including reporting any adverse reactions or medication errors to the supervising nurse.
• Resident Monitoring: Monitor residents for side effects or changes in condition related to medication, notifying the healthcare team of any concerns or changes in their health status.
• Medication Storage & Handling: Ensure medications are stored safely and securely in compliance with state regulations and facility policies.
• Collaboration with Healthcare Team: Work closely with nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible care and outcomes for residents.
• Compliance & Safety: Follow all regulations, guidelines, and protocols for medication administration and safety to ensure the highest standard of care.
