Bryson Senior Living in Bryson City, NC, is seeking a compassionate Medication Aide - SIC to support our clinical team in administering medications and providing specialized care to residents. This role requires ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to safety standards.

The position involves medication administration, support with ADLs, resident monitoring, and close collaboration with nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• State certification as a Medication Aide preferred, on-the-job training available.
• Previous experience in a healthcare setting, particularly senior care preferred.
• Strong knowledge of medication administration, safety protocols, and infection control practices.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members.
• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Medication Administration: Administer medications to residents as prescribed by physicians, ensuring proper dosage, timing, and documentation.
• Specialized Care Support: Provide individualized care for residents with specific medical needs, including assistance with personal care and ADLs.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate and timely medication records and report adverse reactions or errors to the supervising nurse.
• Resident Monitoring: Monitor residents for side effects or changes in condition and notify the healthcare team.
• Medication Storage & Handling: Ensure medications are stored safely and securely in line with state regulations.
• Collaboration with Healthcare Team: Work closely with nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
• Compliance & Safety: Follow regulations and protocols for medication administration and safety.
