Job summary

City of Lincoln in Rathdrum, Idaho, is seeking a full-time, non-exempt caregiver to assist residents with medications and treatments. You will follow physician orders, document outcomes, and ensure medication storage security per state regulations.

You will monitor residents for adverse reactions, maintain the medication cart, and support the Wellness Director with quality improvement activities. The role requires adherence to infection control practices and strong communication with the nursing

Qualifications

• Must satisfy all state health, licensure/certification, and background requirements.
• Knowledge of safe medication practices with a low medication error rate.
• Able to recognize complications and coordinate with a nurse as needed.

Responsibilities

• Passes medications and assists with treatments as ordered.
• Documents administration, effectiveness, and adverse actions per policy.
• Observe and report symptoms related to medication interactions and adverse effects.
• Maintain proper storage and security of medications, including narcotics.
• Keep medication cart/supply area clean and organized.
• Assist Director of Wellness with Quality Improvement activities.
• Obtain and report vital signs and document in medical records.
• Maintain infection control practices and PPE as required.
• Notify supervisor of changes in resident status or condition.
• Assist team with resident care as needed.
• Order new/renew medications and special formulas as directed.
• Collect and dispose of scheduled/controlled substances appropriately.
• Defrost medications and maintain temperature in refrigerators.
• Attend mandatory meetings and maintain confidentiality of information.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Medical Assistant / Certified Nursing Assistant training

CPR/First Aid certification
