Job summary

Regency Integrated Health Services in Houston, TX is seeking a Certified Medication Aide to join our care team. You will administer prescribed medications and treatments, monitor residents, and document all actions in the medication administration record.

The role requires completion of state-approved Medication Aide training, current license in good standing, and the ability to take vital signs and respond to emergencies under supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Successful completion of State Approved Medication Aide Training and Competency Evaluation Program.
• Good standing in the state registry is required.
• Preferred in health care experience: 1 year.
• Working knowledge of Universal Precautions and Blood Borne Pathogen rules.

Responsibilities

• Administers prescribed medications and treatments as defined by state regulations and company policy and procedure.
• Observe and report reactions and side-effects to medication shown by a resident.
• Take and record vital signs prior to medication administration.
• Reports to charge nurse and documents reasons prescribed drugs are not administered.
• Document administered medication in the resident's medication administration record.
• Administer ophthalmic, OTIC, nasal, and vaginal medications as ordered.
• Assist in daily care tasks including bathing, feeding, dressing, observing intake, and transferring residents.
• Maintain cleanliness of the nursing station, medication room, and supply room.
