Job summary

Legacy Healthcare is seeking a Driver to safely transport residents with mobility challenges to their destinations on time. You arrive punctually, take work orders from your supervisor for client trips, and assist residents as they board and exit the vehicle.

You report incidents to supervision, operate wheelchair lifts as needed, and uphold infection control and safety protocols. You also strive to maintain residents' comfort, privacy and dignity while communicating warmly with residents,

Qualifications

• Must have valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Arrive to work in a timely manner.
• Take work orders from supervisor for client trip.
• Drive clients to their destinations on time, including clients with oxygen tanks, intravenous pumps, drips and special equipment.
• Assist clients as they get into and out of the vehicle.
• Report back to the supervisor when clients have been dropped off at their destination.
• Report any incidents or accidents to the supervisor.
• Operate wheelchair lifts as needed.
• Adhere to company policies and protocol.
• Assure that established infection control and standard precaution practices are maintained.
• Follow established safety precautions when performing tasks and using equipment and supplies.
• Maintains the comfort, privacy and dignity of residents and interacts with them in a manner that displays warmth, respect and promotes a caring environment.
• Reports all hazardous conditions, damaged equipment, accidents/incidents and supply issues to the supervisor.
• Communicates and interacts effectively and tactfully with residents, visitors, families, peers and supervisors.
• Answers and respond to call lights promptly and courteously when working in resident care areas.
• Reports all resident concerns to the appropriate department head.
• Attend and participate in departmental meetings and in-services as directed.
• Recognize your role as part of the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) efforts of your organization.
• Attend trainings to build understanding and capacity to undertake QAPI work.
• Carry out QAPI roles and responsibilities as assigned.
• Follow established policies and procedures in support of QAPI efforts.
• Support QAPI efforts both verbally and non-verbally (i.e., via actions and attitude), including adjusting performance and practice in accordance with QAPI initiatives and findings.
• Participate in compliance trainings as scheduled and adhere to compliance plan.
