Job summary

August Healthcare is seeking a Transportation Driver/Transportation Aide to provide safe, timely transport for residents to medical appointments, therapy visits, dialysis, hospital discharges, and community outings. Duties include assisting residents in and out of vehicles, securing mobility devices, conducting safety checks, and maintaining confidentiality.

Qualifications include a current valid driver’s license and acceptable MVR; CPR preferred and required within facility timelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• CPR certification preferred; must obtain within facility timelines.
• Current valid driver’s license with acceptable MVR.
• Experience transporting elderly or medically complex individuals preferred.
• Healthcare setting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely transports residents to appointments, therapy, dialysis, and other approved destinations.
• Assist residents entering and exiting vehicles with proper body mechanics and transfer techniques.
• Secure wheelchairs and mobility devices per policy and manufacturer guidance.
• Perform safety checks before departure and maintain privacy and dignity during transport.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness, fuel, and required safety equipment; report issues immediately.
• Communicate delays or changes to departments and ensure HIPAA compliance.
