Job summary

Charleston Area Medical Center is hiring a Nursing Assistant for the Medical/Surgical unit at Teays Valley Hospital. You will perform direct patient care under the direction of a Clinical Nurse and support daily unit operations.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and Basic Life Support certification. Schedule varies and may include on-call or shift work; training will be provided during orientation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; substitution with relevant experience may be considered.
• Basic Life Support (Required) within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Deliver quality care to patients as delegated by the Clinical Nurse and according to hospital policy and procedure.
• Assist with procedures as determined by hospital policy and procedure, and regulatory guidelines.
• Maintain a neat, clean, and safe patient and unit environment.
• Provide optimum assistance to the medical and nursing staff by providing/ assisting patient with activities of daily living and daily assignments.
• Assist in orientation of new Nursing Assistants.
• Provide courteous and prompt response to patient requests.
• May be required to cover the house.
• Assist with unit maintenance related to ordering and receiving supplies, medications, manuals, and equipment.
