Job summary

CareNow urgent care, part of HCA Healthcare, seeks a Clinical Medical Assistant to support patient care and keep exam rooms prepared with essential instruments. You will take histories and vitals, assist with injections, lab work, and patient scheduling within our team-focused urgent care network.

We value experience with EHR systems, graduation from a medical assisting program, and flexibility to obtain required certifications within 30 days.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in a clinical patient setting.
• Experience using an EHR system.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assisting program or completion of an approved BOTP program.
• AAMA certification helpful.
• Ability to obtain Federal Breath Alcohol Screening and Federal Drug Screening Certification within 30 days of start preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination and record histories and vital signs.
• Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments and maintain supplies and equipment (including sterilization).
• Give injections and assist with lab testing and phlebotomy if needed.
• Assist physicians in applying splints, dressings, and bandages.
• Assist with transfers and scheduling of follow-up care.
• Coordinate patient physicals and workplace injuries for partner accounts.
• Screen incoming calls for referral to physicians and practitioners.

Skills

1+ year clinical experience

EHR experience

AAMA certification helpful

BOTP program graduate

Breath alcohol & drug screening cert.
