Job summary

Penobscot Community Health Care in Bangor, ME is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant to support providers, deliver respectful care, and build trust with patients, many experiencing homelessness, in a primary care setting.

You will perform rooming, prepare exam spaces, manage chart reviews, assist with vaccines and labs, handle medication refills, and help maintain quality and clinic workflows, upholding dignity and access.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Evidence of Medical Assistant training and essential job functions.
• MA Certification required or in process.
• BLS certification within 2 weeks of hire.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, prepare exam spaces, and assist with procedures.
• Administer medications and vaccines under provider direction.
• Draw blood and process labs as required.
• Conduct chart reviews and manage medication refills.
• Support pre-visit planning and overall clinic workflow.
