Job summary

West Jefferson Medical Center in Marrero, LA is looking for a dedicated Medical Assistant (MA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our outpatient clinics on a full-time basis. You will document vital signs, assist with patient intake, and manage clinic flow while supporting EMR documentation and patient care with a compassionate, professional approach.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, at least 2 years of healthcare experience, and current BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Or two (2) years of relevant healthcare experience.
• Current American Heart Association BLS Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and document vital signs and report abnormal findings.
• Assist with patient intake, rooming, and clinic flow.
• Schedule new and follow-up appointments.
• Recognize and respond to emergencies as needed.
• Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and equipment.
• Prepare, clean, and disinfect clinical equipment per policy.
• Collect, prepare, and transport laboratory specimens as needed.
• Support patient comfort and care across age groups.
