Job summary

LCMC Health is seeking a Medical Assistant (MA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) for our New Orleans East Hospital Outpatient Clinic. The role focuses on delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced primary care setting, assisting physicians, managing patient flow, and ensuring accurate EMR documentation.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, 2+ years of relevant healthcare experience, and current BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Two years of relevant healthcare experience preferred.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and document vital signs and report abnormal findings.
• Assist with patient intake, rooming, and clinic flow.
• Schedule new and follow-up appointments.
• Recognize and respond to emergencies.
• Maintain exam rooms, supplies, linens, and equipment.
• Prepare, clean, and disinfect clinical equipment.
• Collect, prepare, and transport laboratory specimens.
• Support patient comfort and care while considering age-specific needs.
