Job summary

Summit Health in Tomball, TX is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patients with warmth and efficiency. You will welcome patients, prepare them for visits, gather vitals, perform basic lab tasks, and relay information clearly to providers.

This role requires Nationally Certified or Registered Medical Assistant credentials and current BLS, with phlebotomy experience and at least 1 year in primary care or urgent care settings preferred.

Qualifications

• Nationally Certified or Registered Medical Assistant is required.
• Current BLS certification for healthcare providers is required.
• 1 year of experience in primary care, family practice, internal medicine, urgent care or ER is preferred.
• Phlebotomy experience is required.
• High School Diploma or Equivalency is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs point-of-care laboratory tests and EKGs as ordered or indicated, suture/staple removal, dressing changes, and other patient care activities.
• Collects and documents vital signs, histories, and screenings.
• Authorizes prescription refills as directed.
• Prepares patients, room, and supplies for visits or examinations.
• Performs phlebotomy and correctly processes specimens.
• Cleans and maintains treatment rooms and equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.
