Job summary

CompDrug is seeking a patient-centered Medical Assistant to support doctors, nurses, and administrative staff in an outpatient setting. Responsibilities include specimen collection, phlebotomy, diagnostic testing, and assisting with patient care within a behavior health focus.

The ideal candidate brings strong communication, teamwork, and computer skills, including EMR experience. The role requires empathy, HIPAA compliance, and an ability to work an early start schedule with occasional Saturday

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification or prior experience and competence in phlebotomy.
• Medical Assistant work experience or completion of medical assistant training program required.
• CPR certification required within 90 days of employment.
• Mental Health or addiction experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with initiative.
• Solid computer skills including EHR and Microsoft Office.
• Empathy and compassion while maintaining boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates specimen collection (urine, saliva, blood, breathalyzer).
• Follows chain of custody and prepares specimens for processing.
• Provides instructions to patients for specimen collection.
• Delivers trauma-informed care in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
• Performs phlebotomy, pregnancy tests, EKGs within scope.
• Collects vitals, history updates, and complete screenings.
• Maintains and restocks medical/toxicology supplies; monitors inventory.
