Job summary

Driscoll Health Plan seeks a dedicated Medical Assistant to support ambulatory patient care. You will perform vital signs, phlebotomy, diagnostic testing, and clerical duties including scheduling, insurance forms, and chart preparation in a fast-paced clinic.

Qualified candidates will have MA training, BLS, and a willingness to pursue CMA/RMA within two years. Collaboration with nurses and physicians is essential to maintain patient safety, records, and effective care delivery.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited medical assistant training program.
• Prior MA experience preferred and documentation of computer skills.
• Current BLS or willing to obtain within six months of hire.
• Attempt CMA or RMA certification within two years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs and documents vital signs and measurements in an age appropriate manner.
• Performs phlebotomy procedures and ancillary testing as directed.
• Handles clerical tasks: telephones, scheduling, insurance pre-authorizations, and records handling.
• Maintains confidentiality and adheres to hospital policies and integrity guidelines.
• Assists nursing staff and collaborates with licensed personnel as needed.
• Promotes safety, infection control and proper use of equipment.
• Maintains patient flow, documentation, and communication with the team.
