Job summary

NorthLakes Community Clinic seeks a Certified Medical Assistant to join our care team in Wisconsin. You will work under the supervision of a medical provider, perform patient intake, vital signs, injections and basic tests, and coordinate care with other clinicians.

You must hold an MA certification and CPR, with 3+ months related experience preferred. A $2,000 sign-on bonus is available for full-time positions along with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Current Medical Assisting certification by a national agency is required.
• One-year certificate from college/technical school or completion of Medical Assistant program; three+ months related experience, or equivalent education/experience.
• Non-Certified Role: three+ months related experience and/or clinical training preferred.
• CPR certification required for all roles; certification from an accredited agency within 12 months of hire is strongly preferred.
• Preferred skills include strong communication, organizational skills, and time management.

Responsibilities

• Participates in daily huddle and pre-visit planning with the care team to address care needs.
• Rooms patients and measures vital signs (pulse, temperature, blood pressure, weight, height).
• Engages patients about symptoms, medications, allergies and other health information using standardized screeners and updates the EHR.
• Prepares rooms and patients for exams and assists with treatments/procedures.
• Gives injections, tests and procedures (e.g., EKGs, blood tests) and may perform routine labs.
• Prepares charts for refill requests and responds to patient requests in consultation with providers and RN.
• Schedules appointments and maintains EHR documentation.
