Job summary

Health First is seeking a Medical Assistant Certified to provide comprehensive patient care during office visits, including intake, vital signs, lab work, and medication administration, while ensuring excellent customer service. The role requires CMA/RMA certification and BLS, with adherence to HIPAA and OSHA standards.

The position supports multiple providers, maintains infection control, and assists with patient registration, scheduling, and coverage across departments as needed.

Qualifications

• Education requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and a technical diploma in medical assisting.
• Certification: CMA/RMA from AAMA, AMT, NHA, NCCT, ARMA, NAHP, AMCA.
• Other requirements: BLS and ability to work with HIPAA procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and perform point of care testing (urine dipstick, glucose) and take vital signs.
• Process medication administration using the 6 Rights and document accordingly.
• Stock supplies and coordinate equipment and medical supply orders.
• Prepare patients for examination with pre-work and review results.
• Communicate lab and imaging results to providers and patients via EMR/portal.
• Maintain safety, infection control, OSHA/HIPAA compliance.
• Support other departments and cover patient registration, checkout, scheduling.
• Handle patient flow and assist multiple providers simultaneously.
