Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred
• Current CMA credential or equivalent certification preferred or required, as applicable
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or required
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Previous clinical experience in a physician practice, community health center, or outpatient setting preferred
• Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems and standard office software preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide Patient Care Support – Prepare patients for examination, obtain and document vital signs, collect and update medical histories, reconcile medications, and ensure patient records are accurate and complete.
• Perform Clinical Procedures – Administer injections, immunizations, specimen collection, basic wound care, and other approved clinical procedures in accordance with organizational policies, state regulations, and provider orders.
• Other Duties – Answer phones, schedule appointments, take messages, greet patients, coordinate referrals, and provide patient education regarding preventive care, treatment instructions, and health maintenance as directed by the provider.
