Job summary

Reid Health in Hagerstown, IN is seeking a Medical Assistant to support Providers with patient procedures, vitals, injections and routine labs. This role emphasizes patient care, confidentiality, and teamwork to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes.

The MA may progress from MA I to MA II with CMA/RMA/CCMA credentials and experience. Position is day-shift and requires strong communication and documentation skills across the care team.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a Medical Assisting course or EMT certification.
• Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), CMA, CCMA or CCMA will be considered for MA II position.
• Associate degree preferred.
• One year experience in a medical practice preferred.
• Applicant with 12 months clinical experience as an NCA/CNA/PCT may complete onboarding to MA I.

Responsibilities

• Take patient vitals and perform injection/immunization procedures.
• Chart and document medical data; prepare exam rooms.
• Handle infectious waste and sterile technique; triage calls.
• Communicate orders with patients, families, pharmacies; provide patient education.
• Demonstrate empathy and maintain patient confidentiality; work in a team environment.

Education

Medical Assisting course or EMT certification

Associate degree (preferred)

One year medical practice experience (preferred)

12 months clinical experience in NCA/CNA/PCT onboarding path
