Job summary

BrightView Health seeks a Medical Assistant to support patient care within our treatment program, performing laboratory procedures under supervision and assisting with planning, assessment, intervention, and evaluation of patient needs.

You will ensure timely patient flow, maintain lab supplies, and document results in the EMR while coordinating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Empathetic and compassionate to support recovery.
• Able to work with a diverse population of patients and colleagues.
• Natural problem solver, meets patient needs with urgency.
• Team player in multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
• Familiarity with HIPAA and 42-CFR Part 2.
• 2+ years of medical assistant experience preferred.
• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate timely and efficient patient flow during visits.
• Perform administrative duties to support patient flow.
• Prepare specimens for shipping.
• Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and a sanitary, organized work environment.
• Provide input on treatment philosophy, services, and patient care.
• Communicate with teams regarding patient appointments.
• Attend required meetings and collaborate within the center team.
• Consult on lab testing, results, and patient issues.
• Collect specimens in accordance with federal and state regulations.
• Review, post, and disseminate laboratory results timely.
• Document in the EMR accurately and timely.
• Maintain patient accounts, including insurance and billing information.
