Advocate Medical Group is seeking a Medical Assistant in Oak Lawn, IL to support the care team and ensure efficient patient flow. You will perform essential clinical and administrative tasks, aiding providers and enhancing patient safety and confidentiality.

The role requires a MA diploma or equivalent experience; phlebotomy is preferred. Schedule includes 40 hours weekly, with one Thursday late night and one half-day Saturday monthly, in a supportive ambulatory setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must have a medical assistant diploma or 2 years of medical assistant experience or be a certified MA with 2 years of medical assistant experience, to qualify.
• Phlebotomy skills are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and support their transition into care.
• Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and health screenings.
• Prepare patients for exams and assist providers during procedures.
• Administer medications and vaccines as directed.
• Perform lab-related tasks including specimen collection and point-of-care testing.
• Document care accurately in the electronic health record.
• Partner with physicians, nurses, and teammates to deliver high-quality, coordinated care.
