Job summary

The Specialty Alliance is seeking a Medical Assistant to support both clinical and administrative areas in our Oak Lawn, IL facility. The role includes assisting physicians with patient care, preparing patients for examinations, collecting specimens, charting, and handling phone triage under supervision.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of medical office experience; completion of a medical assistant program is preferred, with Gastroenterology exposure

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED, MA diploma from an accredited institution, or a college course in medical assisting.
• Experience: Minimum one year in a medical facility as a medical assistant; gastroenterology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with patient care and clinical tasks such as preparing for exams, collecting specimens, checking vital signs, and charting.
• Fulfill clerical duties including handling records, scheduling, and verifying insurance.
• Support organizational needs and maintain patient rights and compliance with safety codes.
• Other duties as assigned.
