Job summary

Advocate Medical Group in Illinois is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the care team with clinical and administrative tasks, ensuring patient safety and confidentiality. The role requires a MA diploma or equivalent experience, with 1 year minimum.

You will perform vital signs, assist during exams, manage test results and messages, and help coordinate care with providers. The schedule is Monday through Friday 7am–6pm, with Saturdays 8am–12pm; benefits and total rewards apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must have a medical assistant diploma or 2 years of medical assistant experience or be a certified MA with 2 years of medical assistant experience, to qualify.
• Phlebotomy skills are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Communicate test results to patients and manage return calls.
• Process prescription refill requests and respond to MyChart messages.
• Support providers, coordinate with patients to ensure a compassionate experience.
• Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and health screenings.
• Prepare patients for exams and assist providers during procedures.
• Administer medications and vaccines as directed.
• Perform lab tasks including specimen collection and point-of-care testing.
• Document care in the electronic health record.
• Partner with physicians and nurses for coordinated care.
