Job summary

Millennium Physician Group in Sebring, FL seeks a Certified/Registered Medical Assistant I (CMA/RMA) to deliver compassionate clinical and administrative support in outpatient and hospital settings. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or CCMA) credential required.
• Maintains active certification and participate in continuing education to ensure ongoing competency and compliance with credentialing standards.
• Prior clinical or internship experience preferred but not required.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
• Basic computer literacy: familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems preferred.
• Skilled in obtaining and documenting vital signs (BP, temp, pulse, resp, SpO2, height, weight).
• Proficient in EKG administration and other routine diagnostic procedures as directed by the provider.
• Knowledge of infection control, universal precautions, and sterile technique.
• Competent in assisting with minor procedures, patient preparation, and clinical room setup.
• Proficient in medical terminology, documentation accuracy, and appointment scheduling.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, follow workflows, and maintain confidentiality.
• Excellent communication, customer service, and team collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Conducts comprehensive patient intakes, including vital signs, medical histories, and medication/allergy reviews.
• Assists providers during examinations, minor procedures, wound care, and diagnostic testing.
• Performs EKGs, immunizations, and specimen collection per policy and competency standards.
• Prepares, labels, and processes laboratory samples and point-of-care tests accurately.
• Maintains infection control, safety protocols, and equipment calibration across clinical areas.
• Supports providers with patient triage, care coordination, and transitions across settings.
• Provides patient education regarding medications, treatment plans, and preventive care.
• Documents clinical data, provider instructions, and patient updates in the EHR accurately.
• Schedules, confirms, and tracks appointments, referrals, authorizations, and test results.
• Verifies insurance coverage and assists with prior authorizations, billing, and coding as needed.
• Monitors inventory and prepares examination or procedure rooms with supplies and equipment.
