Job summary

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant to support providers and deliver high-quality patient care. You will work directly with patients, assist with exams and procedures, and help coordinate care to improve health outcomes.

Day-to-day duties include preparing patients, taking histories and vitals, performing testing, and educating families. The role offers a pathway for growth within a mission-driven health system.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of accredited MA program and externship/internship, EMT, Paramedic, or athletic trainer certification.
• Maintain current MA recertification CEUs if credentialed.
• MA certification eligibility or active EMT/Paramedic license in the State (where applicable).
• Valid CPR certification.
• Credentialing options: CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, NRCMA, CMAC.
• 0–1 year clinical experience; 2+ years if no MA program available.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and prepare patients for appointments.
• Collect and document patient histories, vital signs, and health information.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, tests, and specimen collection.
• Administer medications and perform diagnostic testing as directed.
• Communicate test results and instructions to patients.
• Provide patient and family education to support better health outcomes.
• Coordinate care between patients and providers.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and disease management programs.
