Job summary

Pediatrix Medical Group, Inc. is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians and clinical staff in providing specialized patient care. You will perform both clinical and administrative duties, maintain patient records, and help ensure a smooth patient flow and an excellent patient experience.

Ideal candidates have strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care. State regulations may affect duties and scope of practice.

Qualifications

• Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Certification as a Medical Assistant preferred or as required by state.
• CPR/BLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and escort patients and document medical history and meds in the chart.
• Assist with patient flow to ensure timely visits.
• Support patient experience with excellent service and communication.
• Prepare and assist with exams and procedures under physician supervision.
• Collect and prepare lab specimens and administer injections as allowed by state.
• Explain instructions to patients and ensure understanding.
• Schedule tests, treatments and follow-ups; relay results to patients.
• Maintain clean, stocked exam rooms and sterilize equipment as required.
• Triage calls and process referrals and appointment requests.
